How to measure the coolant level

The coolant has a relevant role in the engine of our car because it is responsible to keep a constant temperature. Its good depends on proper functioning of this important part of your vehicle.

  1. The coolant measurements should be carried out every two months or every 1,000 miles.
  2. For security reasons, it is best to let’s check the coolant level with the engine cold and on a level surface.
  3. If we measure the engine is hot, we must guard well to avoid getting burned with liquid or steam. We must be careful especially on the hands with thick gloves and eyes with goggles.
  4. Typically, the reservoir coolant is transparent, while the liquid is bright colors, which makes it very easy to measure their level. The cover is usually blue or black.
  5. The container of coolant has two marks, one minimum and one maximum. The right level is when the liquid is between the two marks. The colder the engine the more you approach the minimum and the hotter, the maximum.
  6. If we fail to see the brand of the liquid, we can slightly move the container to check the movement and help us locate the liquid.
