The control valve air at idle is an important component of your vehicle. The IAC valve works by controlling the air passing through the throttle plate. This process maintains a proper idling speed. It is important to know how to find and change the valve failure. This will save money and time by avoiding mechanical costs and doing the work yourself.
Instructions
- Park the car and stop the engine. Remove the ignition key. Let the car sit for a half hour to make sure the components are properly cooled.
- Open the hood of the car. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery. Find the IAC valve. It is secured to the throttle body and is possible to identify by the cylindrical component of three to four inches (8-10 cm). Check the service manual for the year, model and specific manufacturer of your car to find a diagram and the exact position.
- Disconnect wire harnesses connected to the valve. Use the appropriate screwdriver and unscrew the two screws holding the valve support den instead. Separate the throttle valve and throw it with the old packaging.
- Use cleaner to the throttle body and a cloth to clean the surface of saddle valve. This will ensure a proper connection.
- Aligns the IAC valve and gasket replacement with the throttle body. Place and tighten the two mounting screws. Connect the harness to the new valve to complete the change. Connect the negative cable from the battery. Close the hood of the vehicle.
